UDial UDelNet

Over the past year, more lines have been made available to users who
connect to the University's computer systems by dialing in through
modems. With the addition of 16 modems to the Newark service last
month, the University now offers more than 150 dial-in lines for users
in all three counties in Delaware.
On Nov. 30, the existing port selector will be taken out of service
since it "does not provide the flexibility our users require," said
Dan Grim, network and systems services. "It is also aging beyond
repair." If you currently dial 831-6152 or 831-6185 to reach the port
selector, begin using 831-6150 or 831-6435 to connect to the
University's systems effective Nov. 30.
After Nov. 30, all University dial-in lines will provide direct
connections to UDelNet, the University's high-speed backbone network.
"Connecting directly to UDelNet allows a user to connect not only to
the central systems, but also to departmental networks or systems,"
Grim said.
