UD transportation manager named
Fentress Truxon (standing, left) has been named manager of
Transportation Services. In his new role, he supervises staff in
University Motor Pool Services, UD Transit and University Vehicle
Maintenance. With him are bus drivers Betty Sims and Bill Campbell.
Truxon explained that his goal is to make sure that all vehicles
are safe and at a high operational level.
"Safety, teamwork and preventive maintenance will be the
cornerstones of our operation," he said.
A Delaware native, Truxon is a graduate of Wilberforce University
in Ohio, where he was recipient of an ROTC scholarship and a
distinguished military graduate.
He was a transportation maintenance/logistics officer in the U.S.
Army in Europe and earned a master's degree from Columbia Pacific
University.
His civilian career includes experience as a garage supervisor
and as an operations and transportation manager.
