Senate approves six programs
At its Monday meeting, the University Faculty Senate gave
permanent status to a nursing administration concentration and
approved six new certification programs in nursing.
The nursing administration concentration can be completed as part
of the master of science degree in nursing, and all the certificates
are post-master's degree specializations, most requiring three
additional clinical courses. The certificates include nursing of
children, nursing of mothers and newborns, cardiopulmonary nursing,
oncology and immune deficiency nursing, nursing administration and
gerontological nursing.
The senate also approved the appointment of Carroll Izard, Unidel
Professor of Psychology, as a member of the newly created Academic
Priorities Review Committee.
