Computer Resource Persons help departments
Computer Resource Persons (CRPs) are on the front lines in more
than 130 academic and administrative offices across campus, providing
assistance and basic computing support to faculty and staff.
CRPs perform such tasks as installing microcomputer software,
assembling microcomputers and printers and helping individual units
make effective use of other campus computing resources for training,
consulting and maintenance support.
As an extension of the Help Desk, CRPs work closely with
Information Technologies to keep departments abreast of current
technology-related information so they can work more efficiently and
productively.
Each CRP has a mentor in Information Technologies who helps solve
a unit's problems when needed, by putting the CRP in touch with the
appropriate resource person.
On Oct. 28, a CRP Recognition Day was sponsored by Information
Technologies and Employee Development. The program included a half-day
series of seminars on the latest developments in technology and
service.
