SERVICE AND AWARDS

     Marybeth Snyder, nursing, serves on the education committee and
     as a board member, Brandywine Valley Children and Adults With
     Attention Deficit Disorder.

     Linda Bucher, nursing,  is president-elect of the Southeastern
     Pennsylvania chapter, American Association of Critical-care
     Nurses.

     Dallas G. Hoover, food science, is serving as chairperson of the
     technical presentations subcomittee for the 1995 Institute of
     Food Technologists meeting to be held June 3-7 in Anaheim, Calif.

     Kathryn L. Kotula, food science, took part in "What in the World"
     Career Awareness Program, Oct. 20, William Penn High School, New
     Castle, Del.

     Priscilla A. Smith, art, received a $2,000 individual artist's
     fellowship from the Delaware States Arts Council to support her
     work in photography.

     Barbara Graham, Ralph R. Johnson and Richie Holland, housing and
     residence life, were appointed to serve on the executive board of
     the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing
     Officers for the coming year.

     P. Krishnan, agricultural engineering, is an associate editor of
     Food Process and Engineering Institute of the American Society of
     Agricultural Engineers.

     Designs by students and faculty from the Department of Textiles,
     Design and Consumer Economics were recognized at the
     International Textiles and Apparel Association annual meeting,
     Oct. 19-23, in Minneapolis. M. Jo Kallal received the Faculty
     Design Award for Best Solution to a Design Problem for her entry,
     "Diagonal Cut." Karen Schaeffer, Mary Jane Matranga and alumna Jo
     Anne Shaw were finalists in the faculty design competition, with
     Schaeffer's submissions displayed in the Goldstein Gallery, Oct.
     11-22, and Matranga's and Shaw's submissions modeled in the Live
     Gallery Show. Student finalist Leanne Matula's design was also
     displayed in the Goldstein Gallery, and works by design majors
     Amy Fyock and Julia Wissman were modeled in the student
     competition. Matranga also illustrated the catalogs for the
     design exhibition and Live Gallery Show.
