Dept. among chem's best
The University of Delaware's Department of Chemistry and
Biochemistry was ranked 18th out of 603 American Chemical Society
(ACS)-certified schools in the number of ACS-certified B.S. chemistry
graduates for 1992-93.
The University has been ranked in the top 25 schools in this
category for the past 14 consecutive years, a distinction that only
nine other schools have achieved, according to John L. Burmeister,
Alumni Distinguished Professor and associate chairperson.
The department has distinguished itself by being eighth in the
number of ACS-certified B.S. chemistry graduates from 1980 through
1993, in general competing with much larger universities, Burmeister
said.
