Kent St. Pierre is elected v.p.

     Kent St. Pierre, Arthur Andersen Alumni Professor and chairperson
of the Department of Accounting, recently was elected national vice
chairperson-academic for 1994-95 of the Teaching and Curriculum
Section of the American Accounting Association. Next year, he will
become national chairperson.
     In his new post, St. Pierre also is a member of the National
Council of the American Accounting Assn.
     The Teaching and Curriculum Section is an association of more
than 1,400 accounting faculty from across the nation who share a
common interest in promoting research and innovation in teaching and
in curriculum topics.
     It sponsors a wide variety of workshops, seminars research
projects and committees, focusing on such topics as student learning
achievements, graduate accountancy programs and the use of the
Internet.
     The section also evaluates and sponsors the presentation of
research papers at regional meetings of the American Accounting
Association.
