On the Job
In February, it will be 19 years since I became a food service worker
at the University. In that time, I have worked in the Rodney and Harrington
dining halls, and currently in The Scrounge. During the day, I help wait on
the students, restock the shelves and work the cash register. I enjoy
working with my co-workers because everybody is so nice.
The first few weeks are really hectic at The Scrounge, especially
before they hire the extra student help. It makes me really happy when I
please the students. The nicest thing that ever happened to me on the job
was when a student gave me a lovely Christmas card.
The students, they are what makes this job fun. While I do love my
work, I'd still love to go into my own business, doing something with
crafts and wood. I like working with my hands."
