Open hearing
The University Faculty Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies will
hold an open hearing to discuss the granting of permanent status to the
Engineering Technology Program at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 19, in Room 112
McDowell Hall.
Background information is available for review in the reserve section
of the Morris Library; in the dean's office of the College of Agricultural
Sciences, 132 Townsend Hall; and in the University Faculty Senate Office,
219 McDowell Hall.
B&G fall brunch
The Blue and Gold Club will hold its monthly Sunday brunch from 10:30
a.m.-2:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10 in the main dining room. This month's
buffet includes a full menu with lemon herbed chicken over linguine,
seafood newberg, carved top round of beef au jus, carved leg of lamb,
flounder dijionnaise, eggs benedict, waffles, pancakes, potatoes O'Brien,
smoked trout and salmon, omelettes made-to order, bacon and sausage,
assorted bagels and pastries as well as a dessert table and a complimentary
glass of sparkling white wine.
The brunch is $15.95 for adults, $7.95 for children ages 5 to 11 and
free for children under 5. All prices include the 12 percent service
charge.
Club membership is required. All University employees are eligible,
for membership and first-time members receive $10 off their first year's
dues.

Campus Mail pickup
Effective Oct. 1, Campus Mail will only accept third class bulk
mailings that have been prepared in accordance with U.S. Postal Service
regulations and are completely ready for pickup and delivery to the
appropriate U.S. post office.
A minimum of 48 hours notice is needed by Campus Mail for any volume
pickup. Mailings not prepared properly will be subject to a preparation
delay, and the unit may be charged for the additional time spent by Mail
Service personnel to correct the mailing.
Mailings prepared by the Graphic Communications Center or arranged
contractually with outside vendors are not affected. Departments wishing to
continue to prepare their own mailings may request specific written
instructions from Campus Mail via e-mail, MAILIT@MVS. UDEL.EDU; by phone,
831-2158; or by fax, 831-8000.
Sacks, trays, stickers and related materials to assist in completion
of bulk mailings will continue to be provided at no charge.
Fall enrollment
Enrollment at the close of the late registration period was 14,932
undergraduates on the Newark campus; 685 undergraduates in the University
Parallel Program; 3,083 graduate students; and 3,035 continuing education
students, for a total enrollment of 21,735.
Folger Theatre trip
The Department of English will sponsor a van trip Oct. 27 to see
Richard II at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. The few
remaining tickets may now be purchased by anyone interested in attending
from the window of the English department.
Cost is $15, including transportation by University van, which will
depart from the parking lot outside Memorial Hall at 4:30 p.m. There are
also tickets available for those who wish to drive themselves.

Food safety hotline
For immediate answers to questions about food safety and nutrition,
call Cooperative Extension's new foods line at 831-1239 on Tuesday
afternoons. Master food educators will be available to answer questions
from noon-4 p.m., Tuesdays. Messages may be left for the food educators
from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on all other weekdays.
Tuition exchange
Applications are now available for those interested in participating
in the University's Tuition Exchange Program (TEP) for fall 1994.
Under the terms of the program, dependent children of eligible
faculty, professional, salaried staff and hourly employees may apply to
attend one of approximately 300 colleges and universities participating in
the national consortium. The dependent must meet the resident institution's
admission requirements.
The TEP can be used in conjunction with the University's tuition
remission program, which applies to full-time, matriculated undergraduate
students.

employee services office at 831-6651. Completed applications must be
returned to employee services by Oct. 22.
College switch info
The National Student Exchange will hold information sessions in the
Admissions Annex at 188 Orchard Rd., from 11-11:45 a.m., Wednesday, Oct.
13; from 3:30-4:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14; and from 3:30-4:15 p.m.,
Wednesday, Oct. 20.
