Coach Raymond among best
The 1993 season marks the 28th year of "The Raymond Era" of University
of Delaware football, a period marked by consistently competitive and
winning football teams. The Blue Hens' 223-88-2 record under Tubby Raymond
has put him at number 15 out of 25 coaches in college football history to
reach a 200-win plateau.
His winning percentage of .716 ranks him fifth among all active
Division I-AA coaches in the nation. His 223 wins rank him third trailing
only Grambling's Eddie Robinson and Eastern Kentucky's Roy Kidd. Raymond
ranks seventh in wins among all active head coaches in any division, and he
has accounted for over 40 percent of Delaware's 498 all-time victories in
101 seasons.
