Tax information

     Information on new federal tax rates, established by the Omnibus
Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993, is being distributed to units with the
Sept. 30 paychecks.
     These increases are retroactive to the start of 1993, so
under-withholding may be an issue for some individuals and for persons with
combined incomes above a certain level.
     The budget law provides that individuals may pay the additional 1993
taxes over a three-year period without penalty.
