Delaware Olympic Preview in Blue Ice Arena Oct. 8-9

     A dazzling display of skill by Olympic, world and national
championship figure skaters is scheduled for the Delaware Olympic Preview
in the University of Delaware Blue Ice Arena at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8 and
at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9. The performances will benefit the
U.S. Olympic Team.
     Top skaters from across the country will join University of Delaware
Skating Club members and perform the routines they plan to use at the U.S.
Figure Skating Championships next January in Detroit and the 1994 Olympic
Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway, in February.
     Among the international skating stars will be Karen Courtland and Todd
Reynolds from the University of Delaware Skating Club. Coached by Bob Young
and Hall of Fame Coach Ron Ludington, director of the Ice Skating Science
Development Center, the pair will perform the routine that earned them the
gold medal at this year's U.S. Olympic Festival in San Antonio.
     As 1992 U.S. Olympic Team alternates, they are serious contenders for
the 1994 U.S. Olympic Team.
     Scott Hamilton, 1984 World and Olympic champion, and Tonya Harding,
1991 national champion and world silver medalist, also will demonstrate
their award-winning skills on ice.
     Olympian Calla Urbanski will skate with new partner, Joe Mero, a 1988
U.S. Olympic Team alternate and national medalist.
     Urbanski's former partner, Rocky Marvel, will appear with Natasha
Kuchiki, a U.S. Olympian and 1991 National Champion and bronze medalist in
the World Championships.
     The 1992 Olympian Russ Witherby from Wilmington will skate with
partner Susan Wynne. They were 1993 national dance silver medalists on the
World Team.
     Other skaters include Michael Chack of New Jersey, known for jumping
prowess and daring routines, and Amy Webster and Ron Kravette, 1993 Olympic
Festival ice dancing champions.
     The Olympic Preview on Ice is hosted by the Delaware State Olympic
Committee, in cooperation with the University, and is sponsored by Blue
Cross & Blue Shield of Delaware. It is the major Delaware fund-raiser for
the U.S. Olympic Team.
     Tickets  are $20 for general admission and $10 for college students,
senior citizens and children under 12.
     Tickets are on sale at the University of Delaware Blue Ice Arena
(831-2868), or at Tickettown in Wilmington (656-9797), or by sending a
check payable to the U.S. Olympic Committee/ Delaware-and a self-addressed,
stamped envelope to: Olympic Fund, Box 1994, Rockland DE 19732. Visa and
MasterCard are accepted.
     A gala reception to meet the skaters and celebrity guests will be held
before the Friday performance for benefactors and patrons, and VIP seating
will be available.
     The cost for this reception and VIP seating is $75 each for
benefactors and $50 each for patrons. For information and reservations for
