English professor receives Fulbright grant

     Ronald E. Martin, professor of English and a member of the Center for
Science and Culture at the University of Delaware, has received a Fulbright
grant for the current  academic year.
     From now through June 1994, Martin is holding the Odense Chair in
American Studies at the Center for American Studies, Odense University in
Denmark.
     Martin, who lives in Newark, received his bachelor's degree from
Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisc., and his master's and doctoral degrees
from Boston University. He has been at the University of Delaware since
1961.
     His fields of specialization are literature and science, 20th-century
American literature and 20th-century American intellectual history.
     In addition to teaching a wide range of undergraduate and graduate
courses, Martin has supervised student research, including numerous
doctoral dissertations, master's theses and undergraduate honors theses.
