New assistant v.p. named in employee, benefits services
Robert C. Martin has been appointed assistant vice president for
employee relations, effective July 25, with supervisory responsibility
for the offices of employee services and benefits services.
In announcing the appointment, Maxine Colm, vice president for
employee relations, said Martin brings a significant background in
employee and labor relations and affirmative action to the position
and has experience in both the academic and corporate sectors.
Martin comes to Delaware from the University of Hartford, where
he served as director of human resources development since 1992.
Before he was manager of employee and labor relations from 1989-1992
and was manager of staffing and affirmative action from 1984-1989
there.
Earlier in his career, he was manager of personnel and of
employment for Dresser Industries in Stratford, Conn., a manufacturer
of products and services supporting the world's energy markets and
energy- producing industries. Martin also served as a captain in the
United States Air Force.
A graduate of Kenyon College, with a master's degree in history
and an MBA degree from the University of Connecticut, Martin is
completing his coursework for a law degree at Western New England
College.
