Variety of PC maintenance contracts available

     You can take advantage of two-, four-and eight-hour response
contracts for PC hardware maintenance as well as an option for time
and materials under the new contract with Bell Atlantic Business
Systems Services.
     Three technicians are on campus at 324 Wyoming Rd., and the
volume of calls will determine if additional help is necessary.
     University personnel and students can purchase contracts to have
personally-owned computer equipment serviced.
     There are fixed prices for high- and low-end PCs as well as high-
and low-end laser, dot matrix and daisy wheel printers, according to
Tory Windley, director of purchasing.
     If you are having problems with equipment but aren't sure if the
problem is hardware, software or data communications, it's a good idea
to get help before calling the Bell Atlantic ServiceLine.
     Call the Helpdesk at 831-6000 or contact your computer resource
person.
     Helpdesk hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 8
a.m.-5 p.m., Fridays; noon-5 p.m., Saturdays; and noon-8 p.m.,
Sundays.

If you opt not to have a contract, the hourly charge for time and
materials services: $60 per hour, 30-minute minimum. This also applies
to repairs out of the scope of services.
