SERVICE AND AWARDS

     Terry Whittaker, business and economics, selected to chair the
     public schools committee, United Negro College Fund, for
     Delaware. The sponsoring campaign host is MBNA America.

     Several Cooperative Extension professionals were recognized
     recently by the honorary society Epsilon Sigma Phi, Delaware
     chapter, at a special luncheon in Dover: David Woodward,
     assistant director for agriculture and natural resources,
     received the distinguished service award for his work as a Kent
     County agent and administrator, especially for establishing the
     Farm and Fin Tour and monthly Friends of Agriculture breakfast
     meetings; Bob Mulrooney, plant pathologist, received the mid-
     career service award for education programs leading to improved
     disease control; Jo Mercer, horticultural agent, received the new
     professional award; the team award went to Sue Snider, food and
     nutrition specialist, and home economics agents Maria Pippidis,
     Roxane Whittaker and Mary Wilcoxon for their successful Keep Food
     Safe educational program; and Judy Twardus received the
     outstanding extension support staff award.
