Upward Bound
The University of Delaware is a regional center for the Upward
Bound Math/Science Initiative, a federally funded program designed to
nurture careers in math and science among disadvantaged students. High
school students from Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania are eligible
to apply if they are handicapped or learning disabled, if they are
from a low-income family, or if their parents/ guardians did not
receive a college degree.
Each summer the center runs a residential summer program,
administered by Marjorie Hingston at the Academic Services Center. She
