Medalist of Merit

     Burt C. Pratt (left), a retired research scientist with the
DuPont Co., received the University's Medal of Merit from Edward
Jefferson, vice chairman of the Board of Trustees. The presentation
was made at the College of Arts and Science convocation ceremony May
28 in Delaware Stadium after commencement. A former director of
Crystal Trust, Pratt is the recipient of the 1988 Lifetime Achievement
in Philanthropy Award from the National Society of Fund Raising
Executives. The Medal of Merit is awarded in recognition of
contributions to human progress through devotion to enduring values
and service to others.
