Two business majors receive University awards

   Students Lowell "Chris" Walker and Cheryl L. Truxon have received
William and Judith Langkammerer Grossman Awards.
   Established from contributions from the Class of 1964 and others
through the University Alumni Fund, the award recognizes outstanding
contributions to campus-wide, co-curricular programs and demonstrated
leadership and organizational ability during the past year.
   A junior business administration major from Knoxville, Tenn.,
Walker will be senior class president next year.
   He is a founding member and historian of Phi Mu Alpha, an honors
music fraternity.
   He also was a founder and president of the University's Black
Student Theatre and is the former treasurer of the Cultural
Programming Advisory Board. Walker danced with the Liz Lerman Dance
Exchange, and during the recent campus performance of Patience, Walker
served as stage manager. He is a performing arts technician with the
music department.
   A Blue Hen Host for admissions, this summer Walker will be a
resident adviser for Summer College and for undergraduates next fall.
   Upon graduation next year, Walker said he hopes to continue his
education in graduate school.
   Truxon, a graduate of Christiana High School, is a senior business
administration major. She has served as president and treasurer of the
Cultural Programming Advisory Board and as treasurer of the campus
NAACP and Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
   A member of the Undergraduate Cabinet and the National Student
Business League, Truxon has been an intern in the Inroads Inc. program
for minority students at Citibank Delaware.
