UpDate - Vol. 13, No. 33, Page 4 May 26, 1994 On the dock in the bay Celebrating a new University acquisition in Lewes are (from left) University President David P. Roselle; Eugene Johnson, president of the Delaware Bay & River Cooperative Inc. (DBRC); Carolyn Thoroughgood, dean of the College of Marine Studies; and William M.W. Sharp, University trustee. This dock, built by DBRC, was turned over to the University by Johnson in an informal ceremony May 19. Located next to the College of Marine Studies' Marine Operations Building, the dock will be used both by the college and DBRC, which has been using space on the University dock and in the Marine Operations Building for some time. When the cooperative purchased a larger vessel, it built the new dock so that all the boats could maneuver better. Founded in 1981 and supported by members of the petroleum and petroleum transportation industries, the DBRC is dedicated to the safe transportation of cargoes and the preservation of waterways.
