UpDate - Vol. 13, No. 33, Page 6 May 26, 1994 Honor student named a Harry S Truman scholar Lori Morgan, a junior in the University Honors Program, was named a winner of the 1993-94 Harry S Truman Scholarship national competition while in Washington, D.C. Approximately 85 Truman scholarships are awarded each year to students who are committed to careers in government or elsewhere in the public sector. Winners from four-year colleges and universities are selected in the junior year after an application and interview process. They each receive $3,000 for the senior year and $27,000 for graduate study. Morgan, a resident of Milford, is pursuing a major in international relations and a English and a minor in French. A veteran of University-sponsored study abroad trips to France and Switzerland, she has been active in community service projects and in campus student organizations and honor societies. Morgan also has been a writing fellow in the Honors Program.
