UD nursing student selected as one of 51 Fuld Fellows
Eric V. Mueller, a junior nursing major at the University, is one of
51 outstanding nursing students from across the country to be named a 1994
Fuld Fellow.
This year those chosen by the Helene Fuld Health Trust will attend the
eighth International Conference on Cancer Nursing to be held in Vancouver,
British Columbia, Canada, Aug. 6-12. The conference, sponsored by the
International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care, will allow Fuld Fellows to
interact with the world's leading practitioners, researchers and educators
in the field of cancer care nursing.
They also attended the National Student Nurses' Association Annual
Convention held this year in Philadelphia, April 20-24.
Mueller, who lives in Newark, said cancer care nursing is one of the
areas he is exploring as a career. He said he is interested in that area of
specialization because of the death of a close friend from cancer.
As part of his fellowship, he will be required to discuss some of what
he learns at the conference with classmates upon his return.
A returning adult student, Mueller served in the U.S. Army.
The Fuld Fellowship program was created in 1986 to promote an
awareness of nursing as an international profession. It is the largest
private charitable trust devoted solely to supporting nursing education.
