SERVICE & AWARDS

     Robert R. Jordan, Delaware Geological Survey, reelected chairperson of
     the Delaware State Boundary Commission, April 21.

     Vic Klemas, marine studies, has been selected by National Space Agency
     of Japan to be principal investigator on the Advanced Earth
     Observation Satellite program. The first satellite will be launched in
     early 1996 to study Earth's environment and its degradation.

     William W. Boyer, Charles Polk Messick Professor Emeritus of Public
     Administration, represented the University at the inauguration of
     Byong Man Ahn as president of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies,
     April 14, Seoul, Korea. Ahn was a visiting distinguished professor of
     political science at Delaware from 1981-1993.
