Emergency staff always on call

In observance of National Emergency Medical Services Week, from May
15-21, the members of the University of Delaware Emergency Care Unit
(UDECU) remind all those in the campus community to dial 831-2222 for
immediate emergency assistance.
Members are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Founded in
1976, the all-student organization, which currently has about 50 members,
responds to all medical emergencies on campus. The unit and its members are
fully certified by the state of Delaware. A majority of its patients are
transported to Christiana Hospital.
The unit's meetings are held once a month. Members are required to
provide 10 hours of service per month.
Anyone interested in finding out more about membership and available
continuing education training-no experience is necessary- should contact
Dave Pizzi, director of membership, at 831-1203.
