Harvard physician to discuss attention deficit disorder (ADD)
Dr. Edward Hallowell, a physician and nationally recognized expert on
the diagnosis and treatment of attention deficit disorder (ADD), will
discuss "ADD Through The Life Span," at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, in
Clayton Hall.
Hallowell is a faculty member at Harvard University, has a private
practice in Cambridge, Mass., and is the co-author of Driven to
Distraction, which has been called "an exceptionally readable book that
covers issues of both children and adults with ADD."
His local lecture will address the transition of individuals with ADD
from childhood through adolescence and into adulthood. His perspective
offers new insights into the lives of people with ADD and their families.
Tickets to Hallowell's lecture, at $8 each, have all been sold, but to
be put on a waiting list, call Mary Ellen and Richard Foulds, 234-0208 (in

While visiting Delaware, he will meet with physicians at the A.I.
duPont Institute and on the afternoon of May 18 will hold a special session
for high school and college students who attend the Tuesday evening
lecture.
During his visit to the area, Hallowell also will appear on WHYY-FM's
"Voices in the Family," which airs on 90.9 FM at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18,
and again at noon on both Saturday, May 21, and Monday, May 23.
Hallowell's Delaware visit is sponsored by the University of
Delaware's Center for Applied Science and Engineering in Rehabilitation,
the A.I. duPont Institute and the Delaware ADD Council, a volunteer
