Abolishing gender topic of lecture
A Victorian's campaign to abolish gender is the topic of an afternoon
lecture, sponsored by the Department of English.
Angela J. C. Ingram of Southwest Texas State University, will discuss
"Masculine Ferocity, Feminine Courage: A Victorian's Campaign to Abolish
Gender" at 4 p.m., Monday, May 9, in 122 Memorial Hall.
Ingram is a professor of English at Southwest Texas and has taught at
the University of Cambridge, Bell School of Languages and the Fairlawn
Academic Center. In addition, she has taught English as a second language
in Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates.
Her talk is co-sponsored by the Committee on Cultural Activities and
Public Events and the Office of Women's Affairs. For information, call
