Chemistry program among the top 25
For the 13th year in a row the University's Department of Chemistry
and Biochemistry has been listed in the top 25 schools for its number of
American Chemical Society (ACS)-certified B.S. chemistry graduates. The
listing was published in the Aug. 9 issue of Chemical and Engineering News.
According to John L. Burmeister, professor and associate chairperson
of the department, of the 601 U.S. colleges that have ACS-certified
programs, only 68 have been listed in the top 25 list during the past 13
years, and only nine have made the list all 13 years.
