Flexible Benefits '94-'95
Changes at a glance

     This is a summary of highlights and changes to the University of
Delaware Flexible Benefits Program for plan year July 1, 1994, through June
30, 1995.

                          Health care enhancements

Changes affecting all plans:
     * Cumulative lifetime benefit increased from $1.5 million to $2
       million.
     * Coverage added for Hepatitis B vaccinations for "high risk"
       individuals (as defined by OSHA).

BC/BS Comprehensive:
     * EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, 1995, threshold for chiropractic services
       increased from $400 to $600 per calendar year before contacting
       Intracorp.

Principal Health Care:
     * Chiropractic coverage subject to $5 co-pay. Primary care physician
       must provide referral.
     * Oral surgery coverage provided for removal of impacted wisdom teeth.
     * Coverage provided for specific organ transplants (heart, lung,
       liver, kidney, cornea and bone marrow).
     * Coverage provided for in-vitro fertilization with a lifetime maximum
       benefit of $30,000. THE $30,000 LIFETIME MAXIMUM IS CUMULATIVE FOR ALL
       UNIVERSITY PLANS.
     * Dollar amount for durable medical equipment increased from $1,000 to
       $5,000 per calendar year.
     * Calendar year maximum for prescription drugs increased from $2,500
       to $3,000 per individual.
     * New coverage for physical therapy provides 45 visits per condition.
       Previous coverage was from onset of condition to 60 calendar days.

Prices/contributions
     * Medical plan costs have increased an average of 3.1 percent.
     * Principal's expanded coverage has resulted in a somewhat greater
       increase.

Social Security wage base
     * 1994 Social Security FICA tax rate is 7.65 percent for wages up to
       the base of $60,600, and 1.45 percent for wages above $60,600.
