Fashion show, art exhibition to benefit AIDS foundation
Bricolage '94," an art exhibition, silent auction and innovative
fashion show to benefit an AIDS foundation, will be held Saturday, May 14
in Clayton Hall on the University of Delaware's Laird Campus on Route 896,
Newark.
Cocktails will be served during the art exhibition and silent auction
scheduled from 6:30-8 p.m. The fashion show, with University of Delaware
students modeling innovative fashions, will be held from 8-9 p.m.
"Bricolage" is a French-based word meaning "an unusual variety of
things put together in a unifying manner." According to Amber DeWeese, one
of the event's organizers, it was selected as the program's title since
"each designer is working on an individual collection, and we are
presenting all of the collections together in a unifying manner."
Cost is $7 for the general public and $5 for students and senior
citizens. Tickets will be available at the door or may be reserved in
advance by sending a check, made payable to "The Fashion Group-UD," to
Eileen Castle, 211 Alison Annex. Include your name, telephone number and
the number attending.
The semiformal event is sponsored by The Fashion Group at the
University of Delaware, compsoed of students from the Department of
Textiles, Design and Consumer Economics at the University.
Proceeds will go to DIFFA, Design Industries Foundation for AIDS.
