Flea market
     The Newark Senior Center will hold a pancake breakfast and flea market
from 7 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at the Newark Senior Center,
located at 300 East Main St. Included for sale will be antique jewelry,
homemade baked goods, new and used clothing and white elephant items.
     The Lions Club will sponsor the pancake breakfast, which costs $4 for
adults and $3 for senior citizens and children under 12.

Ag Day Saturday
     The College of Argicultural Sciences will hold its annual Ag Day from
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, April 23, on the grounds surrounding Townsend and
Worrilow halls.
     The day's events will include tours of the farm, the botanical gardens
and the greenhouse, plus a petting zoo, fingerprinting, pony rides and a
dunking booth.
     Plants and cut flowers will be offered for sale, and the New Castle
County Master Gardeners will have an horticultural exhibit.
     Parking and most activities are free. This event will be held rain or
shine.

Campus bond drive
     The University's annual U.S. Savings Bond campaign is being held
through April 29.

Softball tournament
     The second annual Doug Carpentier memorial softball tournament will be
held Saturday, April 30, on Frazer Field, located behind Carpenter Sports
Building.
     There are men's, women's and coed tournaments. Roster minimum is 10;
maximum is 20. Cost is $25 per team. Registration, which can be made at the
Carpenter Sports Building, will continue through Wednesday, April 27.

Secretaries' Day
     The Blue and Gold Club will offer a buffet lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.,
Wednesday, April 27, in honor of Secretaries' Day. Cost is $7.50 per
person.
     The club also will be open for dinner on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8,
from 5:30-9 p.m.

Residence closings
     All students must vacate residence halls no later than 10 p.m.,
Friday, May 27, except for students who are scheduled for a final exam
during the evening of May 27 and who have registered with their hall
directors and assistant area coordinators.
     Graduating seniors who reside on campus must vacate the residence
halls no later than 5 p.m., Saturday, May 28.
     Faculty members who are conducting the last final exams should refer
questions pertaining to residence hall closings to hall directors and
assistant area coordinators.

Trade show
     The New Castle County Chamber of Commerce's trade show will continue
from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m., today, at the Bob Carpenter Center. Events include
a legislative breakfast, a media luncheon and various workshops that will
cover a wide range of business topics.

Staff luncheon
     The University Staff Association will hold its monthly luncheon today,
from noon-1 p.m., in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center. Apparel
design students from textiles, design and consumer economics will present a
fashon show entitled, "'Bricolage'-The Preview."
     Cost is $6.50 for lunch and $1.25 to brown bag.

Shabbat dinner
     A shabbat dinner and service, with installation of the new Hillel
Student Board, will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 22, at the Abe and
Pearl Kristol Hillel House located at 47 West Delaware Ave.

Lunch and learn
     The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program will offer a discussion on
Eldercare from noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in the Kirkwood Room of
the Perkins Student Center. Attorney Piet VanOgtrop will discuss the legal
considerations of the aging and their caregivers.
     Registration is required.

Book reading
     Kathy Snodgrass, author of The Fiction of Hortense Calisher, published
by the University of Delaware Press in 1993, will read "Gargantua," one of
Calisher's early autobiographical stories.
     The reading is scheduled at 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in 122
Memorial Hall.
