Health changes seminar topic

More than 30 nurse educators and community health leaders attended a
workshop, "Community Health Nursing: How Will Health Reform Change Nursing
Education?" in March on campus.
The presentation was given by Ann Cary, professor and associate dean
of the Louisiana State University Medical Center. A nationally known
author, consultant and educator on community health and health reform
issues, Cary said changes resulting from health reform efforts will result
in more nurses practicing their skills in the community and more attention
directed toward consumer services and injury and illness prevention.
The resulting changes also will affect the future education of health
professionals, Cary said.
The program was co-sponsored by the Visiting Women's Scholars Program
and the College of Nursing.
