Lunch and learn
     The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program offers "Lunch and Learn"
programs twice a month to all University employees.
     The next program, entitled "Balancing Family and Work," will be held
from noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, in the Kirkwood Room of the Perkins
Student Center. Donna Tuites, women's affairs, will talk about the
challenges of balancing a family and work.
     The part of a discussion on Eldercare will take place from noon-1
p.m., Wednesday, April 27, in the Kirkwood Room of the Perkins Student
Center. Attorney Piet VanOgtrop will discuss the legal considerations of
the aging and their caregivers.
     Registration is required.

TA conference ideas
     The Center for Teaching Effectiveness is accepting suggestions and
proposals for sessions and topics for its annual conference for graduate
teaching assistants.
     Individuals also are invited to present a workshop, facilitate a
discussion session or roundtable or participate in a panel discussion at
this year's conference.
     To participate in the conference, call the Center for Teaching
Effectiveness at 831-2027 to request a participation form.

Casino night Friday
     The Perkins Student Center will sponsor a free Casino Night, at 8
p.m., Friday, April 8, in Bacchus. Featured games will include wheels of
fortune, dice games and horse racing. A cash bar will be available with
proper identification.
     Darwin Ortiz, the "world's greatest card shark," will perform at 5
p.m. in the Scrounge.
     University ID is required and one guest may be admitted with each ID.

Student nominations
     Interested students are invited to run for positions in DUSC, the 1995
Senior Class and the RSA. Students may run individually or on a party
ticket.
     To campaign, students must sign up by 4:30 p.m., today, in the Student
Activities Office located in the Perkins Student Center. A general
elections meeting will follow at 5 p.m.

Tony the Tiger
     Famous cereal personality Tony the Tiger will visit the Scrounge from
10 a.m.-2 p.m., Friday, April 8. It's grrreat that students will be able to
get their picture taken with the stuffed television star. There's talk that
Delaware's YoUDee may meet with Tony during the tiger's campus visit.

Parking plans
     There are plans to blacktop the parking lot across from Purnell Hall
and reopen it in the near future, according to a representative in public
safety. Because of the winter's bad weather, the surface has been heavily
damaged, and it is unsafe to park in the lot at the present time.

Library hours
     The Morris Library hours from April 4-May 12 are 8 a.m.-midnight,
Mondays-Thursdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays; 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays; and
from 11 a.m.-midnight Sundays.
     Special Collections and the Exhibition Gallery hours are from 9 a.m.-5
p.m., Monday-Friday and Tuesdays until 8 p.m. Call 831-BOOK for all library
hours.

Vehicle auction
     The University has the following vehicles for sale: a 1985 Dodge Aries
four-door sedan with 81,300 miles, a 1987 Ford Tempo four-door sedan with
72,300 miles and a 1982 Nissan pick-up truck with 62,000 miles.
     All vehicles are in fair condition and are sold "as is." Vehicles may
be viewed at the vehicle maintenance shop on Wyoming Road.
     Sealed bids will be received until 2 p.m., Friday, April 15, in

Guests on JAVA
     Dean of Students Tim Brooks and Vice Provost for Academic Affairs
Margaret Andersen will be guests on WVUD's "The Friday Morning JAVA" from
8-9 a.m., Friday, April 15.
     Calls will be taken at 831-2701, and callers will have the opportunity
to ask questions and comment about happenings that affect students.
