Contemporary Music Festival features new compositions

New Music Delaware," a festival of contemporary music sponsored by the
Department of Music, will take place in the Amy E. du Pont Music Building
April 11, 12 and 18.
This year's annual festival will include three concerts, with
pre-concert composers' roundtables each night and an afternoon composers'
forum.
In order to encourage new music, the Department of Music sponsored the
first of what will become an annual competition for composers living and/or
working in the seven-state, mid-Atlantic region. Three prizes and five
honorable mentions were selected from more than 85 entries.
All eight winning compositions will be performed during the course of
the festival, which is free and open to the public.
