Honors Day May 6
The 1994 Honors Day program will be held at 11:15 a.m., Friday, May 6,
across the campus. Prior to the Honors Day program, President and Mrs.
David P. Roselle will host a reception from 9-10:30 a.m. in Clayton Hall
for members of honor societies, award recipients, their sponsors and
families.
Pension workshops
A state of Delaware pension and retirement workshop will be held in
New Castle County from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, at Delaware Technical
and Community College's Wilmington campus and from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday,
March 30, at Stanton Middle School.
Included in the program will be remarks by representatives of the
state pension office and the Social Security Administration.
B & G programs
A new program and a special event have been scheduled by the Blue and
Gold Club. An Easter egg hunt for children under 12 will be held at 4 p.m.,
Saturday, April 2. Prizes will be awarded for the most eggs collected.
The hunt will be followed by a family buffet, which will include
grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and a build-your-own-sundae bar from 5-8
p.m.
The club also will offer an express breakfast from 7:30-9:30 a.m.,
Monday-Friday, starting Monday, April 4, on the porch of the main dining
room.
Cost is $3.95 for a continental breakfast, which includes coffee,
juice, fresh fruit and pastries. Club membership is required.

International Night
The Cosmopolitan Club will hold its annual International Night at 6:30
p.m., Saturday, March 19, in Newark Hall. Included in the events will be
live music, dancing and an international costume show.
Cost is $2 for students and members, $3 for all others. Tickets will
be sold at the door.
Bowl for kids
Each year, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Delaware conducts "Bowl for
Kids Sake" to support friendships between adult volunteers and children
from single-parent families.
The 13th annual event will take place Saturday, April 9, in New Castle
County at Bowlerama, Price Lanes and Pike Creek Bowling Center and in
Sussex County at Midway Bowling Center. The Kent County event will occur
Sunday, April 10, at Dover Bowl.
The University is participating in the fund raiser. Interested
individuals may form teams of five or six members who are willing to
solicit sponsorship on a cents-per-pin basis.
Last year, 300 teams from business, government and community
organizations participated.
University groups should be registered by March 25.

Swimming lessons
The members of the University's swimming team will offer lessons this
spring to children ages 4-14. Each student swimmer will receive seven,
50-minute lessons. Two sessions will be offered, 10-10:50 a.m. and 11-11:50
a.m., Saturdays, beginning April 9, at the Harry Rawstrom Pool in the
Carpenter Sports Building.
Cost is $40. Fee and application must be received by Thursday, April
7. Registration forms may be picked up in the lobby of Carpenter Sports
Building. '

Staff luncheon
The University Staff Association will hold its monthly luncheon from
noon-1 p.m., Thursday, March 24, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student
Center.
Featured will be Ed Okonowicz, an adult storyteller, who will present
"American Legends and Folktales." An editor in the Office of Public
Relations, he is a member of Philadelphia's Patchwork: A Storytelling Guild
and presents programs at inns, retirement homes and theatres in the
mid-Atlantic area.
Cost is $6.50 for a box lunch, $1.25 to brown bag. Send checks made
payable to the University of Delaware, to: Cyndi Timko, 127 Townsend Hall,
no later than Monday, March 21. No telephone calls please.
White Clay cycle ride
The White Clay Bicycle Club will hold the "Icicle," a 25-, 50- or
100- kilometer, self-paced bicycle ride through Cecil and Chester counties
on Saturday, March 26.
Cost is $9 per person before March 21; $12 after. The fee includes a
painted route and map, sag wagon for breakdowns, food stop and a
commemorative water bottle. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. in the
University's Hollingsworth parking lot, located at North College and
Cleveland avenues.

Fashion show
The University's Fashion Group will hold its first annual fashion
show/AIDS benefit, "Bricolage '94," on Saturday, May 14 in Clayton Hall.
The semiformal event will begin with a cocktail hour, art exhibit and
silent auction from 6:30-8 p.m., followed by the fashion show from 8-9 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit DIFFA, Design Industries Foundation for AIDS.
Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Tickets will be
available both in advance and at the door.
