Pension workshops
A state of Delaware pension and retirement workshop will be held from
7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, at Milford High School for employees
residing in Kent and Sussex counties. Two repeat presentations will be held
in New Castle County: from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, at Delaware
Technical and Community College's Wilmington College; and from 7-9 p.m.,
Wednesday, March 30, at Stanton Middle School.
Included in the program will be remarks by representatives of the
state Pension Office and the Social Security Administration.
Trabant Award
The E. A. Trabant Award is given annually to the individual,
department, administrative unit or committee that has contributed to equity
for women at the University. The Commission on the Status of Women defines
contributions broadly, to encourage as wide a range of nominations as
possible, but examples might include developing exemplary programs or
curricula, implementing innovative policies and procedures related to
woemn's equity and enhancing existing services to women.
Nominations will be accepted from any member of the University
community. Self-nominations must be accompanied by at least one supporting
letter from outside the unit. Deadline for nominations is March 21.

Summer camps
The University will offer summer sports camps in diving, field hockey,
cross country, soccer, tennis, boys' and girls' basketball, girls'
shooting, football, volleyball and girls' lacrosse.

AAUW senior award
The Newark branch of the American Association of University Women
presents an annual award of $100 to an outstanding senior woman, and
nominations are now being sought.
Principal criteria are academic achievement, leadership in service on
the campus and in the community and a minimum grade point average of 3.25.
Deadline for applications is 4 p.m., Friday, March 25. Applications
are available from the Office of Women's Affairs, Room 303 Hullihen Hall.
1995 Winter Session
Proposals are requested for 1995 Winter Session Study Abroad Programs.
Departments that intend to sponsor one or more programs that have been
previously approved and that will not be significantly changed should
submit the names of the programs, courses to be offered and names of
faculty directors.
Proposals for new or substantially modified study abroad programs
should be submitted to international programs and special sessions for
review and approval. Detailed guidelines for departmental,
interdepartmental and individual proposals have been sent to each
department.
All proposals for new and previously approved study abroad programs
must be submitted by departmental chairpersons to international programs
and special sessions by Friday, March 18.

Weight program
The nutrition clinic's weight management program, which is conducted
by a registered dietitian, will begin March 12. This program will teach the
safe and effective way to control weight through a low-fat diet, exercise
and behavior modification.
Classes meet from noon-1 p.m., Mondays, beginning March 14, in Room
236 Alison Hall. Cost for this six week program is $35.

Delaware, to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Room 238 Alison

AFROTC food drive
The University's Arnold Air Society will sponsor a food drive for
needy families in Delaware. Donations of packaged and canned foods may be
dropped off through March 25 at the AFROTC detachment, located at 503
Academy St. The building will be open for donations from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.,
weekdays; from 5-6 p.m., Saturdays; and from 6-8 p.m., Sundays.
All food will be donated to the Food Bank of Delaware in time for

Cabaret cruise
Delta Sigma Theta sorority and Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity will sponsor
a cabaret cruise aboard the Lady Baltimore from 11 p.m.-2 a.m., Friday, May
6, at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. The cruise will include live
entertainment, hot hors d'oeuvres and more. Transportation will be provided
to and from Inner Harbor.
Cost is $25 per person and $45 for couples. For more information, call

Health seminar
Health-care reform and its implications for Delawareans will the focus
at a health-care reform seminar to be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at
the Newark Senior Center, located at 300 Main St.

Ballroom dancing
The University's Recreation and Intramural Program will offer
beginning and advanced ballroom dance instruction for eight weeks,
beginning Sunday, March 20. The beginner's session will be held from 7-8
p.m., and the advanced session will be held from 8-9 p.m., both in
Carpenter Sports Building's front gym. Instructors will be Patricia and Dan
Grim.
Cost is $10 for students and $30 for all others. Registration must be
made by March 15. Registration forms are available at the front desk in

Fitness program
Late semester fitness programs begin April 7 and continue until May
18. Registration will begin March 18 in Carpenter Sports Building.

Student conference
The Student Activities Office will sponsor a Delaware Student
Leadership Conference Saturday, April 9, at MBNA America Bank. Nominations
are being accepted for students who would benefit from this conference
which will provide young leaders with the opportunity to spend time
focusing on improving leadership skills and to learn about leadership as it
applies to their academic, campus, community and other leadership roles.
Nomination forms are available from the Student Activities Office
which is located at 306 Perkins Student Center. Nominations are due March
