Conant in concert

     The Department of Music will sponsor a free presentation of Miriam, a
musical theatre work performed by the Wasteland Company, at 8 p.m., Monday,
March 7, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
     Featured will be Abbie Conant, an American-born trombonist who
received much attention after a decade of gender discrimination at the
Munich Philharmonic.
     Conant currently teaches in Trossingen, Germany. Her husband, William
Osborne, provided the music, text and direction for Miriam and other
performance art works on their 1994 Freedom Tour.
