Series of 'Welcoming Diversity' workshops in Student Center
The Office of Affirmative Action and Multicultural Programs and the
Commission to Promote Racial and Cultural Diversity have scheduled a series
of "Welcoming Diversity" workshops in the Perkins Student Center, under the
auspices of the Commission's Diversity Education Task Force.
Weekday workshops begin at 8:30 a.m., and Saturday workshops begin at
9 a.m. Workshops conclude between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. The one-day,
experiential workshops will help participants identify the information and
misinformation learned about other groups; identify and express pride in
the groups to which they belong; learn how groups other than their own
experience mistreatment and discrimination; and practice how to interrupt
prejudicial jokes, remarks and slurs.
Individuals or groups may register for any of the workshops by
returning the form, calling Gloria Davis at 831-8735 or by sending her an
e-mail message at Gloria.Davis indicating the date of the workshop
preferred, and a name and telephone number for contact.
