     Merel van Zanten, co-captain of the women's basketball team, is a
native of Blomendaal, Holland. She moved to America when she was 12 years
old and began playing basketball in junior high school. She is 28 points
away from becoming the 11th player in Blue Hen women's basketball history
to join the 1,000-point club.
