On the Job
I've been working for the University for the past 23 years. I do a
little bit of everything. My responsibilities include fixing and ordering
any appliances or furniture that have been broken in shipping or through
use. I take care of the campus' academic buildings, not the dormitories.
When there is a file cabinet or drawer that is stuck and needs to be fixed,
I am the man they call. I also have my own way of recycling. If something
gets broken and the office does not want it anymore, I fix it up and keep
it for future use by an office. Also, I fill new positions. This means if
there is a new position on campus and new furniture is needed to fill the
room, they order it through me. Of course, they always have the option of
using my recycled furniture.
