History student new Pew fellow
Neva Specht, a doctoral candidate in the Department of History, has
been awarded a dissertation fellowship for 1994-95 from the Pew Program in
Religion and American History administered by Yale University.
The fellowship carries a stipend of $12,000. Specht is writing her
dissertation on "Mixed Blessing: Trans-Appalachian Settlement and the
Society of Friends, 1780-1830" under the direction of Christine Heyrman,
associate professor of history.
