Employee Development and Training
As of July 1 -- Employment process revised
On July 1, 1993, the employment process for salaried staff positions
was revised. All job applicants must submit a resume to the employment
office rather than complete the standard employment application form. This
change applies to both internal and external candidates.
The new procedure, announced by Maxine Colm, vice president for
employee relations, had been recommended by the salaried staff constituency
group of the Commission on the Status of Women and was supported by the
Salaried Staff Advisory Council.
"I am pleased to implement this change," Colm said, "because it
provides a consistent application process for both professional and
salaried staff positions.
Further, a well-prepared resume is a critical first-step in the career
development process."
University salaried staff members are encouraged to keep their resumes
on file with the employment office. The resume can then be forwarded to the
hiring unit when the individual wishes to be considered for a position.
