On the Job

My job is interesting because there are so many things for me to do. I
answer phone calls, issue alumni memberships and locker service and
register teams for the intramural program. I also register students for our
fitness programs, which is one of the best parts about my job. It keeps me
busy and makes the students happy, which makes me feel good.
"Checking IDs is an important aspect of my job. Carpenter Sports
Building is a very secure building, and it is my responsibility to help
keep it that way. Many non-students try to get in here, which is
prohibited. After temping with the linguistics department and the library
for six months, I got this job permanently. I wanted to work for the
University because my uncle and one of my friends worked here, and told me
how great it was. I've been at Carpenter for a year and three months now,
and I am pleased that everyone here is so nice. As long as your co-workers
are easy to get along with, your job is more interesting."
