     Paul T. Durbin, philosophy and urban affairs, awarded an honorary
     lifetime membership by National Association for Science, Technology
     and Society at ninth Technological Literacy Conference, Jan. 21,
     Alexandria, Va.

     Leo Cotnoir, plant and soil sciences retired, honored by a College of
     Agricultural Sciences bulletin dedicated to him. Titled The University
     of Delaware Soil Testing Program: History, Philosophy and Value, A
     37-Year Summary (1957-1993), the bulletin summarizes how under
     Cotnoir's supervision, the laboratory grew from a few test tubes to a
     full automated operation used by farmers, homeowners, researchers and
     Cooperative Extension professionals.
