Employee Development and Training
Development Certificate Program available through seminar series

The Office of Employee Relations is pleased to announce a new
certificate program of informational seminars on career enhancement
strategies specifically designed for University salaried staff members.
The program will encompass a wide variety of seminars targeted to
specific areas of career development. The series is being coordinated by
staff from Employee Services. Guest speakers from other units will provide
information at some of the seminars.
The series kicks off with an Introduction to Career Planning. The
seminar will focus attention on the skill assessment process and tools for
career planning. The second program provides instruction in Resume Writing,
a building block for planning career moves.
In the third segment of the series, the reclassification process at
the University will be reviewed. Examining the form used as well as the
elements of the reclassification audit will be covered. Program four
affords participants the opportunity to learn more about the vast array of
educational benefits available at the University and the process for
enrollment in credit and non-credit classes, as well as development
programs offered by units in the Office of Employee Relations and Computing
and Network Services (CNS).
A review of the employment process at the University and interviewing
tips is the focus of the fifth seminar. The series concludes with a
goal-setting process for ensuring career plans are implemented.
Participants will also learn about the services available to salaried staff
through the Career Resource Center.
Each of the six seminars are approximately 90 minutes in length.
Prospective participants are encouraged to enroll in the entire series
for maximum benefit.
Enrollment will be limited to a small number to assure individual
attention. Look for the dates in the class listings in this special
supplement, on the electronic Employee Development bulletin board, or call
