On the Job
Vacuuming, dusting, wiping and basically cleaning anything that's
dirty are the duties of my job. I begin my day at 5 in the morning by
cleaning each room in the buildings I work in. I inspect all walls, light
switches and woodwork for spots that need to be removed. I mainly work
indoors, but I often have to go outside to take out the trash or shovel the
walkways when necessary. Not only do I keep the building clean, I often
save people a lot of grief when something is thrown in the trash
accidently. If I suspect that an item is not garbage, I will return it to
that very grateful person. While working at the University for two and a
half years, I have met many interesting employees. Interacting with nice
people is what I like best about my job. Once, a professor wrote a letter
commending my work. I was very pleased that someone noticed that all the
cleaning was due to my hard work, and this made me feel good."
