SERVICE AND AWARDS

     Judith Bower Carberry, civil engineering, received the Harrison
     Prescott Eddy Award from the Chesapeake Water Environment Association
     for outstanding contribution to the national research journal of the
     Water Environmental Federation. The award-winning publication,
     co-authored with former graduate student Sang Ho Lee, dealt with their
     work to chemically modify chlorinated toxic waste to enhance the
     biodegradability.

     Jonathan H. Sharp, marine studies, appointed by Gov. Thomas Carper to
     Mid-Atlantic Regional Marine Research Board.

     John C. Cavanaugh, individual and family studies, named consulting
     editor, Psychology and Aging.

     Robert Schweitzer, finance, elected president, Southern Finance
     Association for 1993-94.
