Award-winning alumna to address grads Jan. 8

     The University of Delaware 1994 Winter Commencement, recognizing
students who have completed their degree requirements in August and
December, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 8, in the Bob Carpenter
Sports/ Convocation Center.
     Award-winning choreographer and alumna Susan Stroman, who last year
won the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award
for outstanding choreography for Crazy for You, will be the featured
speaker.
     Also at the ceremony, Jane Richards Roth, judge on the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Third District, will receive an honorary doctor of laws
degree.
     Admission to the ceremony is by ticket only. Each graduating student
was entitled to a maximum of seven guest tickets.

Volunteer marshals
     Each year, at winter and spring commencements, members of the
University community volunteer their services as marshals, assisting with
those in the procession, as well as assisting graduates and visiting
guests.
