Tavern B.B.B. special
The Blue and Gold Club's burger, beer and basketball (B.B.B.) special
has returned to the Tavern. The B.B.B. includes a six-ounce grilled burger
served on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato, two toppings, french fries
and a draft beer or soda for $5.95.
The B.B.B. is available from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Tavern before
basketball games on Wednesday, Jan.5; Friday, Jan. 21; Friday, Feb. 11; and
Friday, Feb. 25. Dress is casual. Reservations are not required, but
seating is limited.
Club membership is required, and all University employees are
eligible. Dues will be $25 from Jan. 1 to June 30. However, on Dec. 17 from
5-10 p.m., first-time members may join for six months for $15.
Call UD1-CLUB for an application or to make reservations.
Winter fitness
Registration for Winter Session fitness programs began Dec. 13, and
classes start on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
For additional information on class offerings and fees, stop by the
Carpenter Sports Building or call 831-2264.
Sea Grant proposals
The University's Sea Grant College Program is soliciting pre-proposals
for the period from Feb. 1, 1995, through Jan. 31, 1997. Request forms for
pre-proposals are now available. Pre-proposals are needed in the general
areas of marine biotechnology, coastal processes/engineering, environmental
studies, fisheries and aquaculture and marine policy. To obtain a copy,
call the program office at 831-8182.
Diversity workshop
The Commission to Promote Racial and Cultural Diversity will offer a
one-day "Welcoming Diversity" workshop from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Jan.
8, in the Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center.
This free workshop, which is open to all members of the University
community, is designed to help participants understand and deal with
various forms of discrimination and to bring the campus closer to achieving
a community where dialog and discourse are the dictates of the day.

Delaware cookbook
The Delaware 4-H Foundation Inc. is selling Delaware 4-H Favorites, a
cookbook featuring favorite recipes from 4-H members, leaders, alumni and
friends as a fundraising project to support 4-H programs.
The cookbook, which contains 335 recipes, is available from individual
4-H members, as well as at local bookstores and businesses throughout the
state, for $10.
University employees may obtain a copy by visiting the state 4-H
office, located at 122 Townsend Hall, or by sending a check for $10-made
payable to the Delaware 4-H Foundation Inc.-to the same address.
Library hours
The library will be open Dec.23 from 8-5 p.m., and will be closed from
Dec. 24-Jan. 2 to observe the University holiday recess.
The library will re-open Monday, Jan. 3 from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Winter
session hours are as follows: Mondays-Thursdays, 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Fridays 8
a.m.-6 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Special Collections and Exhibition Gallery Hours are Mondays-Fridays 9
a.m.-5 p.m., and Tuesdays until 8 p.m.
The Morris Library, Special Collections and Exhibition Gallery will be
open regular hours on Monday, Jan. 17, Martin Luther King Day.
Caroling on lawn
The Newark Business Association, city of Newark and the University
will sponsor "Carolling on the Lawn" at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at the
corner of Main and Academy streets.
In addition, canned goods will be collected at the Academy Building
steps. The Food Bank of Delaware Inc. will distribute all food collected
that evening.
