     Robert R. Jordan, Delaware Geological Survey, reappointed by Gov.
     Thomas Carper to a three-year term on State Board of Registration of
     Geologists.

     Marvin V. Sussman, Unidel Professor of Human Behavior emeritus, was
     honored in March by a thematic session at the Eastern Sociological
     Society Boston meeting, recognizing his career contributions to the
     study of family and organizational change.

     Susan Foster, computing and network services, appointed to the
     nomination and election committee of CAUSE, an association for
     managing and using information technology in higher education. She
     also is a member of the steering committee for the 1994 Computer
     Science Conference to be held in Phoenix March 5-12. The conference is
     sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery Inc., the largest
     and oldest educational and scientific society serving the needs of the
     needs of the computing and information processing communities.

     Bryant F. Tolles Jr., museum studies, history and art history,
     appointed to new American Association for State and Local History Task
     Force on Education and Training.

     David Herman, music, elected to a three-year term as chairperson,
     Region VI, National Association of Schools of Music.
