First Night free passes available

As part of the University's involvement with First Night Wilmington
'94, there are a limited number of free admission buttons available to
members of the campus community.
The button, which normally sells for $6 for adults and $3 for
children, serves as a ticket for all the entertainment in the downtown
area, from 6 p.m. -midnight, on New Year's Eve.
The event is being billed as a non-alcoholic, fun-filled,
family-oriented festival celebrating the performing arts. A sample of the
activities and entertainment, taking place from the Market Street Mall to
the Brandywine River, includes jazz, a Philadelphia Mummers band, ice
sculpture, bluegrass music, dance, face painting, roving entertainers,
choral presentations, live radio broadcasts, ethnic music, rock 'n' roll,
circus acts, country dancing, children's entertainers, a puppet show,
drama, art and gospel music.
Free parking will be available downtown to those with First Night
buttons, and a fireworks display will be presented above Rodney Square at
midnight.
The first group of 250 buttons will be available to University
students, faculty and staff on a first-come, first-served basis (limit of
four per person), beginning Thursday, Dec. 9, at 8 a.m. in three campus
locations: the Bob Carpenter Center box office; the Employee Services
Building (former WSFS bank site) at 51 East Main St.; and the Office of
Public Relations at 150 South College Ave.
